BJ’s Wholesale Club Adds a Shopping Option in Ocala, Florida |
A new warehouse club and food donation partnership for local families |

Ocala shoppers have another membership-store option with the arrival of BJ’s Wholesale Club at 7351 SW 60th Avenue.
The company announced an October 23 opening for the warehouse club, adding a new destination for groceries and household shopping on the southwest side of town.
The selection includes fresh produce, meat, bakery goods, deli items, pet supplies, electronics, and other everyday merchandise.
For busy households, the appeal extends beyond the aisles: the retailer lists curbside pickup, same-day delivery, and shipping among its shopping options.
Members can also use the company’s app-based ExpressPay service to scan purchases while shopping.
Whether a membership makes sense will depend on what your household buys, how often you visit, and the terms of the plan you choose.
Compare current membership terms before signing up, especially if an introductory offer is part of your decision.
The opening also includes a local food-assistance connection through Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.
BJ’s says it will regularly donate items such as produce, meat, and dairy products to help support people facing hunger.
That partnership gives the new store a community role beyond its checkout lanes.
One opening-week detail deserves care: the advertised $2-per-gallon gas promotion applied only to October 21.
That one-day promotion has ended, so it should not be treated as an ongoing fuel price.
Before your first visit, confirm current hours, membership requirements, and any available offers directly with the club. |

Might stop by after checking their hours first.
Kimberly A.Good call. I’d check the hours before heading over there too.
Shipping sounds useful, depending on what the membership costs.
Fresh produce donations should help local families quite a bit.
Patricia MooreFresh food can be hard for food banks to keep stocked. I hope the donations are regular.
Glad they clarified the gas price was one day only.
Those introductory offers always make me read the fine print.
Tasha P.Same here. I want to know what it costs when the first year is up.
That’s a smart habit. As the article notes, it’s worth comparing the current membership terms before signing up, especially with an introductory offer.
Electronics are nice, but groceries would be my reason to join.
Nice having a deli option closer to SW 60th.
Hope curbside pickup doesn't take forever on weekends.
That’s a fair concern, especially on busy weekends. Curbside pickup is listed as an option, but we haven’t seen weekend wait times yet.
I'll wait until the opening crowds calm down a bit.
beth_ocalI’m giving it a couple of weeks too. The parking lot is probably going to be busy.
The southwest side needed more choices for household stuff.
The new club does add another place to shop for household basics. Thanks for sharing your perspective!
I missed the gas special, but might look around anyway.
The gas special has ended, but there’s still plenty to browse. It’s worth checking current membership terms before you go.
Has anyone tried that ExpressPay app in the new store?
Donating meat and dairy to Second Harvest is a nice start.
Another membership fee isn't for every household in Ocala.
Hope the bakery has some decent bread for once.
We hope you find something you like! The store lists bakery goods among its offerings, though we haven’t tried the bread.
Went by yesterday and the parking lot looked busy.
Pet supplies in bulk could save us a few trips.
Nina S.Especially if they carry the brand your pets already eat. Ours won’t touch anything else.
I'll check the membership terms before buying anything there.
Same day delivery sounds handy if the fees aren't crazy.
Same-day delivery could be useful. We’d check the current fees and terms before counting on it for a regular shop.
More traffic on SW 60th Avenue is my first thought.
Good to see Second Harvest getting fresh food from them.
Sharon B.Agreed. It’s nice to see produce and dairy included, not just pantry items.
Wonder how the produce prices compare with other stores.
A price comparison would be helpful, particularly for produce. We don’t have one yet, so it’s worth checking prices against what you usually buy.
Curbside pickup might be worth the membership for me.
Maria LopezSame for me. Picking up groceries without going inside would save time after work.
Wish that two dollar gas deal lasted past October 21.
Tom R.I missed it too. Two dollars a gallon would have been nice for a fill-up.
Glad to have another grocery option on the southwest side.
We’re glad to see another option on the southwest side, too. Thanks for reading!
