Ocala Chinese restaurant to reopen in Ocala,Florida |
Yummy House China Bistro returns with Ocala dim sum |

Ocala diners who have missed steaming baskets of dumplings are getting a familiar restaurant back, this time at a new address.
Yummy House China Bistro is scheduled to reopen Wednesday, September 30, at 2510 SW 27th Avenue, in Suites 102 and 103.
The return follows more than a year away from Ocala after the restaurant closed its longtime State Road 200 location in June 2025.
For regulars, the wait has been long, but the move promises more than a familiar name on a new storefront.
Yummy House plans to bring back most of its original staff and menu, giving returning customers a chance to see familiar faces.
The new space sits beside the recently opened Captain D’s on a stretch where diners now have another option for a meal out.
At the heart of the return is Ocala dim sum, the bite-sized dishes that made Yummy House a destination for sharing a table.
Pork buns, pork and shrimp shumai, shrimp and chive dumplings, spare ribs and crunchy fried shrimp balls are among the familiar choices.
For anyone who prefers a full entrée, the restaurant also offers sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken, Szechuan pork and fried rice.
That range matters: a table can order steamer baskets to share while still finding the Chinese-American favorites that keep weeknight dinners simple.
The reopening also closes a gap left when the previous Yummy House location shut its doors along the busy College Road corridor.
Sushi Feast now occupies that former space at 3500 SW College Road, following an extensive interior renovation.
Yummy House has continued operating restaurants in Gainesville, Sarasota and Tampa, but its Ocala customers have had to wait for a local return.
Now, the question is how quickly familiar tables will fill again once the kitchen starts serving its first orders.
For an Ocala Chinese restaurant with an established following, keeping the people and dishes customers remember is a strong way to start. |
