Eric Anderson of Ocala, Florida, thought mysterious shipping emails were junk—until boxes of duplicate vacuums, shower curtains, sweaters, and toy cars landed on his doorstep and $1,200 in charges appeared on his credit cards. Even after reporting the fraud, his banks refused refunds, citing shipment to his address. Anderson discovered his Walmart account had been hacked, but repeated calls to the retailer went nowhere until local news stepped in. With their help, Walmart finally acknowledged the issue, provided return shipping labels, and issued a full refund. Kayne Stuart, who endured severe hazing while working at Marion County Fire Rescue’s Friendship Station in late 2025, has reached a civil settlement with the county. While most terms remain secret, it's been confirmed that the worker’s compensation portion amounts to $100,000. The incident, which involved Stuart being beaten and waterboarded by colleagues, led to multiple firings and criminal charges against several firefighters. The Florida Department of Health is currently considering whether to revoke the EMT licenses of those involved. Stuart, now moving forward with his life, is seeking firefighting opportunities elsewhere. The department has pledged to rebuild public trust following the ordeal. |
