Kayne Stuart, who endured severe hazing while working at Marion County Fire Rescue’s Friendship Station in late 2025, has reached a civil settlement with the county. While most terms remain secret, it's been confirmed that the worker’s compensation portion amounts to $100,000.

The incident, which involved Stuart being beaten and waterboarded by colleagues, led to multiple firings and criminal charges against several firefighters. The Florida Department of Health is currently considering whether to revoke the EMT licenses of those involved.
